The Wife I Live

We are going on 8 months in our marriage and i can’t believe how much fun it has been. Setting up your life with someone; your house, your home, your dentist appointments, your budget, fixing cars, buying his and hers peanut butter. Everything takes effort and compromise because while i may like red, he likes blue. You just have to decide what is really important to you and what isn’t worth the argument.

It is no secret that i am ready for motherhood. i love the feeling of being able to shape someone’s mind and teach them right from wrong. It warms my heart and brings me ultimate joy.

Last night, husband and i had a wonderful discussion about our future together as a family. It was soft and sweet and real. We have plans for paying off student loans and trading in our cars. Saving money in preparation for our children.

One thing he said was, “once we have kids, it won’t just be you and me.”

And then BOOM! i realized that he was right. We need way more time together. Just him and me. Figuring things out and becoming stronger as a couple, so that

when parenthood hits, it will be that much easier for us to stick together.

For now, i will just keep my eyes open for our future puppy:)
